Children’s Lifesaving Lessons



Here at WNPS we offer great options for children whom have completed their learn to swim programme and are looking for a bigger challenge.

One of these exit pathways is our lifesaving programme, based on RLSS Rookies (age 8-12yrs) and RLSS Survive & Save (age 12+)

These courses are a fun, healthy & sociable way to keep fit and learn the essential skills of advanced water safety, an essential life skill for youngsters living an active life by the sea.

Survive & Save can be used as credits towards GCSE PE (see pages 7-24).  Survive_&_Save_National_Curriculum_Guide (1) ) and is also a great pathway into an early career in lifesaving. It gives students their first taste of the discipline required for studying towards a reputable and reccognised award/qualification.

Once completing the Survive & Save programme, many of the dedicated young adults join us as volunteers on the Rookie Lifeguard programme, giving back a little of what they have learn and becoming role models for the new young would be lifesavers and using their commitment towards Duke of Edinburgh
